The project "Miquel Àngel Lacomba quartet" is a formation of musicians formed after ten years of compositions by the pianist Miquel Àngel Lacomba. The influences are diverse like jazz, latin jazz, classical, and contemporary style.

The Miquel Àngel Lacomba quartet has recently recorded and published “Illetas”, an EP with 4 new songs, in addition to the album already published in 2022 titled “Cocó” with 5 songs, a selection of lyrical, sensitive, and subtle songs. The harmonic structures, escaping from the usual harmonic patterns, bring complexity and freedom, allowing broad perspectives of music expression.

The composition process was carried out with care and reflection, thanks to the formation of the quartet, run by the musicians Marco Lohikari on contrabass, Teo Salvà on drums, Jaume Blàzquez on flugelhorn and Miquel Àngel Lacomba on piano.

The musical compositions, without being conditioned to a specific style, clearly express the musical language of jazz, thus making it possible to enjoy the improvisations and alternations between musicians.
